The European headquarters, located at the Amsterdam Campus, hosts a wide range of strategic and operational functions, including design, digital innovation, supply chain, marketing, retail management, and sustainable business development.
Given its size and scope, the organization has a Works Council, which plays a key role in representing employees’ interests and advising on organizational developments, change processes, and employment policies.
Assignment Scope
- Support the establishment, structuring, and documentation of Works Council processes in accordance with Dutch regulations, with particular focus on formalizing and streamlining procedures such as timely approval of minutes, structured agenda management, and transparent communication with the wider employee population.
- Guide and empower Works Council members in balancing their OR responsibilities alongside demanding roles in the fashion industry, where non-standard working hours and high workloads are common, ensuring that responsibility is shared by all members.
- Operate effectively within a continuously evolving organization, driven by entrepreneurial leadership and subject to frequent reorganizations. In this dynamic environment, the Works Council requires support in navigating change, safeguarding employee interests, and positioning itself as a constructive, strategic partner to the Executive Board.
- Support alignment with global corporate structures, recognizing the specific dynamics of operating as part of a U.S.-based parent company with its European headquarters in Amsterdam. This includes sensitivity to cross-cultural communication, corporate decision-making practices, and the interplay between global strategy and local implementation.
- Ensure smooth operations of the Works Council through structured planning, adherence to legal timelines, and the implementation of practical tools (e.g., deadline and decision trackers) that promote accountability, consistency, and focus.
